What does "Bliss notices your heartbeat" do?
It lets Bliss, the voice companion in CalmSpace.ai, respond to how your body is doing while you talk. When you start a voice conversation on your iPhone with the setting on, your Apple Watch measures your heart rate and the phone passes Bliss a simple signal with each turn: climbing, steady or settling.
- Climbing: Bliss slows down, keeps her reply short and soft, and gently offers to take one slow breath with you, in for four and out for six.
- Settling: if it fits, she may say once, softly, that your body seems to be settling.
- Steady: she does not mention it.
Bliss does not bring up numbers, never says anything medical about your heart, and never tells you she is monitoring you. This is a way for a conversation to feel calmer. It is not a health check, and CalmSpace.ai is not a medical service or a medical device.
What do I need to use it?
An iPhone with the CalmSpace.ai app, a paired Apple Watch with the CalmSpace.ai Watch app installed, and permission to read heart rate in Apple Health. It works during voice conversations with Bliss. When a conversation starts, the phone opens the Watch app for you. Your watch shows "Bliss can feel your heartbeat while you talk" and a Stop button, so you can end it from your wrist at any time.
Is my heart rate stored or used to train AI?
No. The readings live in memory on your phone for that conversation and are dropped when it ends. The server uses the signal to shape that one reply and never keeps or logs it. It is not sent to Bliss's memory, and the transcript holds your words only. The watch uses a mind-and-body session only so it can read your heart rate live; that session is thrown away at the end and is not saved as a workout. CalmSpace.ai has no ads, does not sell personal data, and does not use your conversations to train third-party AI models. See the privacy page for the full policy.
What do I see after the conversation?
A short reflection card on your iPhone that tells you how your heart rate moved while you talked: whether it settled, rose or stayed steady.
What is in the CalmSpace.ai Apple Watch app?
The Watch app has three parts:
- Breathe: a breathing session of 1, 3 or 5 minutes, guided by taps on your wrist. With Apple Health access it is paced by your heart rate. It starts at about six breaths a minute (4 seconds in, 6 out). If your heart rate stays up, the out-breath grows by half a second at a time, up to 8 seconds. The pace only ever slows, and changes at most once a breath. Without Health access it uses box breathing, 4-4-4-4. It works fully on the watch.
- Minutes: your mindful minutes for this week, from Apple Health. Each Watch breathing session is saved as Mindful Minutes.
- Today: a button to Talk to Bliss, which opens the conversation on your iPhone.
Does Bliss talk to me on the watch?
Voice conversations happen on the iPhone. The watch is the remote start and, if you turn on "Bliss notices your heartbeat", the heart-rate sensor. Breathing sessions run on the watch itself.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a calm app that uses my Apple Watch heart rate?
Yes. In CalmSpace.ai, with "Bliss notices your heartbeat" turned on, your Apple Watch tells Bliss whether your heart rate is climbing, steady or settling while you talk by voice, and she responds, for example by slowing down and offering a breath. The Watch app also paces breathing by your heart rate.
Does CalmSpace.ai store my heart rate?
No. The readings are used only during the conversation and dropped when it ends. They are never stored, never logged and never added to what Bliss remembers.
Is this a medical heart monitor?
No. CalmSpace.ai is not a medical service or a medical device. Bliss never says anything medical about your heart. The signal only helps her pace the conversation.
Is the heartbeat feature on by default?
No. It is off until you turn it on in the iPhone app's Settings, and you can stop it from the watch at any time.
Can I breathe on my Apple Watch without my phone?
Yes. Breathing sessions in the CalmSpace.ai Watch app run fully on the watch, with taps on your wrist, and are saved as Mindful Minutes in Apple Health.
How does heart-rate-paced breathing work on the watch?
The session starts at about six breaths a minute, 4 seconds in and 6 out. If your heart rate stays up, the out-breath lengthens by half a second at a time, up to 8 seconds. Without Health access it uses box breathing, 4-4-4-4.
Can I talk to Bliss on my Apple Watch?
