Is Bliss a therapist?

No. Bliss is the voice companion in CalmSpace.ai, not a therapist, a counsellor or a doctor. She listens, helps you slow down, breathes with you and remembers what matters to you. She does not diagnose, treat or prescribe anything, and she is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional. If you already see a therapist, CalmSpace.ai can sit alongside that care. It does not replace it.

Is CalmSpace.ai a medical device?

No. CalmSpace.ai is a wellness app. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, as our Terms say. When you turn on Bliss notices your heartbeat with an Apple Watch, she only knows whether your heart rate is climbing, steady or settling, so she can slow down or suggest a breath. She never tells you numbers or anything medical, and that heart rate is not stored. More on the Apple Watch page.

What happens if I am in crisis?

Bliss recognises crisis language and points you to real help straight away. She does this in English and in Spanish.

What Bliss does

If a message talks about suicide, self-harm or not wanting to be alive, Bliss stops the normal conversation. She tells you that you do not have to face this alone, and she gives you the crisis line for your country and your emergency number. In the US that is 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, which you can call or text (988lifeline.org). Elsewhere, the app shows the line for the country you are in. That message and her reply are not saved to your chat history.

What the SOS screen has

The SOS button opens a safe space in the iPhone app and the web app. You can:

  • pick what is happening (panic, can't sleep, spiralling, overwhelmed, or just need to talk);
  • follow a paced breath, or a 5-4-3-2-1 grounding exercise;
  • see crisis lines and the emergency number for your country, and change the country if you are travelling;
  • find a helpline anywhere through findahelpline.com;
  • on iPhone, text or call someone you trust in one tap (saved only on your phone).

CalmSpace.ai does not call anyone for you on a personal account. If your account comes through a school that uses CalmSpace EDU, the school may be alerted so a counsellor can follow up; your school tells you how that works.

Who is CalmSpace.ai for?

CalmSpace.ai is for adults and teenagers who want a calmer day. People use it for everyday stress and worry, work pressure, trouble sleeping, or wanting someone to talk to at 2 a.m. You can talk to Bliss by voice or by typing, breathe together with friends, send kind voice notes and wind down with sleep stories and sounds.

Who is it not for?

CalmSpace.ai is not for emergencies, and it is not the right tool on its own for anyone who needs medical or psychiatric care. It is not a way to diagnose a condition, manage medication or replace a treatment plan. If you are not safe right now, call your emergency number or a crisis line first.

How old do you have to be?

You must be at least 13 to use CalmSpace.ai, and at least 16 in the EU, as our Terms say. It is not intended for anyone under 13.
