What is Breathe together in CalmSpace.ai?
Breathe together is a shared breathing session for 2 to 6 people who are not in the same room. One person makes an invite and sends the link. Everyone who opens it joins the same session. When the host presses Start, every screen counts down and then breathes to the same rhythm from the same start time, wherever each person is.
There is no video and no call. Each device runs the same breathing pattern from one shared clock, so a grandparent in one city and a grandchild in another breathe in and out together.
How can I breathe with family or friends who live far away?
You send them a link and you all start at once. The person who makes the invite needs a CalmSpace.ai account, in the iPhone app or the web app. The people who join do not. They open the link in the CalmSpace.ai app or in any browser, type their first name, and wait. The session begins on its own with a short countdown, so they only need to keep the screen open.
You can share the link by text or chat, or invite people by email from the session. Each email goes out once, and CalmSpace.ai does not keep the addresses.
Which breathing rhythms can we use?
There are five rhythms, and you can choose 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes for each round:
- Calm: breathe in for 4 seconds, out for 6.
- Resonant: in for 5.5 seconds, out for 5.5.
- Sigh: breathe in, a little more in, then a long breath out.
- Box: in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4.
- Sleep: the 4-7-8 breath, in for 4, hold for 7, out for 8.
Can Bliss guide the group?
Yes. When the setting is on, Bliss, the voice companion in CalmSpace.ai, guides the breathing with her voice on everyone's device, in time with the shared clock. The whole group hears her cues together. Anyone who prefers silence can turn her voice off on their own screen. You can read more about her on the Bliss page.
What happens after a round?
Each person can send a small reaction to the others: 🙏 Thank you, 💛 Feeling calmer, or 🔁 Again?. The host can then start another round with the same people and the same link. Everyone's screen starts again on its own. The host can change the rhythm or the length for the next round, or make a new invite for someone else.
What is a weekly circle?
A weekly circle is a Breathe together session on a schedule. You pick a name, a day of the week, a time, a rhythm and a length. The link never changes, and each week the session starts by itself at that time, so nobody has to press Start. It suits a family bedtime breath, or friends in different cities who want a fixed time to breathe together.
- The time is set in your time zone. People who open the circle link see the next session in their own local time.
- Anyone with the link can add the circle to their calendar.
- The week's session opens half an hour before the start.
- On iPhone you can ask for a reminder 10 minutes before.
- You can have up to 5 weekly circles. Deleting a circle stops its link working.
What does CalmSpace.ai keep about a session?
Very little. A session holds the first names and languages of the people in it, and it expires two hours after it was made. In the app you can see a short history of who you breathed with, the day and the rhythm. It keeps first names only, lasts a year, and you can delete one entry or all of them.
