Does Bliss remember what I tell her?

Yes, Bliss remembers what matters to you, and memory is on when you start. That is the point of her: you should not have to explain your week again every time you talk. If you mention a hard meeting on Thursday, she can ask how it went when you next talk after Thursday. You can turn memory off at any time (see below).

What does Bliss remember?

Bliss keeps a small set of notes, not a file on your life. They are:

  • Conversation summaries. A short summary of each conversation, with its main topics, so the next one picks up where you left off.
  • What Bliss has learned. A short picture of what matters to you, built from those conversations.
  • Follow-ups. Things coming up that you mentioned, like an exam or a doctor's visit, that she may gently ask about later. They expire on their own.
  • Transcripts, if saved. The full words of a conversation are kept only while Save full transcripts is on. You choose how long they are kept (30, 90 or 180 days, a year, or forever), and they are encrypted at rest.

If a message is about a crisis, Bliss gives you a crisis line and that message is not saved to your chat history. More on the safety page.

Where can I see what Bliss remembers?

Everything is on one screen called What Bliss remembers. On iPhone it is in Settings; on the web it is in the app at app.calmspace.ai. On that screen you can:

  • Search everything Bliss remembers.
  • Pin what matters most, so it stays at the top.
  • Correct a summary by putting it in your own words. It is then marked as edited by you.
  • Mute a topic. Bliss will not bring it up on her own, but you can still talk about it any time.
  • Delete one memory, or dismiss a follow-up.

How do I turn memory off?

Turn off Remember our conversations in the web app (on the What Bliss remembers page, or in your profile under Bliss memory). From then on each conversation starts fresh and Bliss keeps nothing new. What is already listed stays until you delete it, so delete it too if you want a clean slate.

How do I delete everything Bliss remembers?

Press Forget everything at the bottom of What Bliss remembers. It permanently deletes every summary, follow-up, saved transcript and the picture Bliss has built of you, and it cannot be undone. It also removes your weekly Breathe together circles and stops the links to any voice notes you have sent. Your typed chat history is kept separately; to remove that as well, delete your account.

How do I delete my account?

Choose Delete Account in Settings on iPhone, or Delete account in your profile on the web. It permanently removes your account and the data in it, including Bliss's memory, your journal, your mood history and your chat history, and signs you out. On the web it also cancels your Premium subscription. On iPhone, an App Store subscription is billed by Apple, so cancel it in the iPhone Settings app under your name, then Subscriptions. See pricing for more on cancelling.

Is my memory used to train AI?

No. Your conversations and memories are not used to train third-party AI models, and they are not sold or used for ads. Data is stored with AWS in the US (us-east-1), encrypted in transit and at rest. The details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does Bliss remember my heart rate or my sleep?

No. When Bliss notices your heartbeat is on, she uses your heart rate only in that moment and it is not stored or added to her memory (Apple Watch). Last night's sleep from Apple Health is read on your iPhone and never sent to us (Sleep). Read more about Bliss or see the FAQ.

Frequently asked questions

Is memory on by default?

Yes. Bliss remembers what matters to you from your first conversation. You can turn it off with Remember our conversations in the web app, and delete what is already there.

Can I see everything Bliss remembers about me?

Yes. The What Bliss remembers screen lists her conversation summaries, what she has learned, the follow-ups she is holding and the topics you have muted. You can search it.

Can I change something Bliss got wrong?

Yes. Correct a summary by writing it in your own words. Bliss uses your version from then on, and it is marked as edited by you.

What does muting a topic do?

Bliss will not bring that topic up on her own. You can still talk about it whenever you want, and you can unmute it later.

Does Forget everything delete my account?

No. Forget everything wipes what Bliss remembers, her follow-ups and any saved transcripts, and keeps your account. To remove the account and everything in it, use Delete Account.

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

On the web, yes. On iPhone the subscription is billed by Apple, so cancel it in the Settings app under your name, then Subscriptions.
